Sacramento area REME members went to Tahoe to participate in the first run of the Sierra Nevada Mini Cooper Club. The two groups met at Squaw Valley for lunch and than ran together around Lake Tahoe to the jucntion of highways 50 and 28. SNM returned to Carson City on 50 and REME completed their loop of the lake on 28. From Truckee to Cisco REME ran Historic Route 40 over Donner Pass on the return to Sacramento.

We had over 60 Minis. Beautiful warm clear day. Lots of fun and cool roads!!!
After starting in Suisun City at 8am, we proceeded to Concord by way of Clayton Rd. picking up a group Clayton Valley Center. Then off to Livermore via Marsh Creek & Morgan Territory Rd. to pick up more. We proceeded on Mines Rd. to Mt. Hamilton and the Lick Observatory. Here is where we got booted for “Too Many MINIS”... then back up to Dublin on Calaveras Rd. & Palomares Road.
We all got to the Englander Pub in Dublin around 3:30PM to share a fantastic meal and libations.

The tour began with a concert and dinner send off in Windsor on Thursday, June 22. The run actually started in Healdsburg on June 23 and ended in Redding on Monday, June 26. With optional routes home the run totaled over 1100 miles for most members, for some over 1300 miles.

It was one of those rare beautiful weekends on the Northern California Coast. REME started the run in San Rafael at 9:30am. Driving over West Marin County roads we stopped at the Nicasio Resevoir, Mount Tamalpais, Point Bonita Lighthouse, Nike Missle site, and Point Reyes Station. We had a picnic lunch in the Marin Headlands (Golden Gate National Recreation Area) and an optional early dinner at Sam's Roadhouse in Novato.

About 20 MINI/Minis made the trek to Napa for the Friday Night Downtown Chef's Market. We were able to park about 15 of our Minis in the market. Our Minis were a BIG attraction. Next time we hope to have a side street set up for all of us to park together. Good weather and lots & Lots of people.

A beautiful day to drive in the Sierra Mountains after snow the previous day at higher elevations. This appears to be the first REME run with snow on some of the roads driven with a lunch stop at Strawberry Lodge on Hwy 50. All of the convertibles went topless even with low temperatures at the higher elevations.

Due to severe weather, snow, ice, and wind, we decided to reschedule this run, BUT we still met at J's Market in Old Shasta and then went over to Norm & Jesse's for homemade biscuits & gravy. Watched REME 2007 DVD and had a great visit. We had 7 MINI/Minis and 11 people. Norm, Jesse, Steven, Julie, Taylor, Mindy, Linda, Nolan, Mary, Ellie, and Randy. We are all looking forward to getting together soon.

The weekend started on Friday night with the MS-REME chapter attending the Kool April Nites parade. This was hosted by Kathy & Tom Zeh (and Long's Drugs) who provided special parking, bbq dinner, tables, chairs, and a perfect spot along the parade route.
Pynt Syz represented Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts in the parade and show and proudly won the Super 70's Pick. Over 1800 cars were entered and here are some photos.

WOW, it doesn't get much better than this, cool mountain air, clear skies, sun glistening off the snow capped mountains, smooth clear twisty roads along Trinity River and a fun group of spirited Mini drivers. Whooooo Whooooo !!!!!
9 Cars including 8 Minis and 1 Lotus left Old Shasta at 9AM and headed out 299 west, past Whiskeyton Lake, then up and over the Buckhorn Pass. What a blast. Then a turn onto Trinity Dam road to Lewiston and a run out Rush Creek Rd. to SR-3 and back for a stop at the Trinity Dam Lookout and lunch at the Mountain Valley Grill. There Sandie and Ann took off up SR-3 past Trinity Ceter and over Scott Mountain while the rest drove back 299 to Old Shasta.
Great Day. Looks like the MS-REME group is catching on.

This was our Fourth Christmas Party held at the Union Hotel in Occidental. As usual we experienced excellent food and service.
Our Christmas Dinner followed an exciting run beginning in both Cotati & Napa, at 9am, ending in Occidental at 2pm. Thank you to both the regulars and new members which attended the festivities.

Blessed with near record high temperatures of 70F, clear blue skies, no wind, prefered parking along side the USS Hornet in Alameda, and the best retired US Navy veterans serving as our tour guides, near 50 of us boarded the historic USS Hornet for a wonderful day. Since we had such a big group we were "catered to". We had the hot catered lunch in the Ward Room galley. Hope you all got some great photos. Even got to ride the aircraft elevator from the hanger deck to the flight deck (8 seconds).
Our meetup point at Ikea in Emeryville worked out well with the fire department bringing their giant hook & ladder truck and raising and climbing the ladder so they could get "arial" photos of all our MINIs in the parking lot.

What a great turnout on such a windy rainy day. We had 25-30 Minis depending on when and where you counted. Several of new faces. Dinner/late lunch worked out great at Sam's in Novato. Food was good and so was the service.
Roads were remarkably good considering the conditions.

The Shasta members of REME showed up in force and invaded the Trinity Touring Club's Auto Cross at Shasta Speedway in Anderson. Blessed with dry, clear, sunny skies and a very accomodating group from Trinity Touring Club, several out our members put "the pedal to the metal" and put their Minis through the paces. All with smiles on their faces.

What a hot but beautiful weekend car show. The show had over 300 participating cars (slightly smaller in size from past years) but had the largest Mini-MINI representation in any All-British Car Show that I have attended to date. REME received both the Second & Third place awards for MINI coupes and a Second in MINI convertibles.

2009 07/12-13 MS-REME Fortuna Run

This run started on Saturday Night with dinner at Logan's Roadhouse in Redding and we went on to walk the Sundial Bridge later that evening. Sunday morning started at J's Market in Old Shasta on 299, took us out west to Lewiston, and lunch at Trinidad Eatery and a visit to the Trinity Lighthouse and beach, wine & cheese tasting at the Wildcat Wine Shoppe in Frendale CA, coctail party and hot tub party at the Bay Shore Inn in Eureka CA, followed by Monday's breakfast at the Samoa Cookhouse, Lunch at Wildwood on highway 36, and dinner at the Riverside Cafe in Red Bluff. We had about 24 enthusiasts and 11 Minis participate over the two-day event.

What an extremely fun day! This car show featured the Sun Kings and had hundreds of enthusiastic visitors! The best part is that it was hosted by the management of Montgomery Village and it did not require the amount of work for our membership as our own car show held just 2 weeks ago.
Thank you to the Montgomery Village Management! We hope that you ask us to participate again next year.

This was a run developed especially for those that have to work on Saturdays. It was a fun drive with some wonderful participants. It started to rain early so we ate lunch in the Fort Ross Visitor's Center and then followed that by having Clam Chowder in Occidental.

About 18 Minis-MINIs joined for a very sunny run on the Marin-Sonoma Coast with a picnic on a very private beach cove. The run was spirited yet safe and all participants made the entire 150 mile trip ending in the Dry Creek Valley, in Geyserville.

I believe we had 15-17 cars joins us for this fantastic ride back and forth through the Santa Cruz Mountains ending in Half Moon Bay for a late lunch. The weather was beautiful, roads maintained, and company superb. It was good to see all the new faces! Thanks David for leading this run.

This holiday event included a little for every member. We started the day with a small Show & Shine at the Veterans Home in Yountville. Some members and friends of the club spent the day dressed up entertaining Vets in their wards and cafeteria.
The majority of the membership continued on a very well executed run meeting up with other club members for dinner in Occidental. There were many new faces at the dinner tables along with those of some of the loyal membership.
A great time was had by all!

What was reported to be a damp winter day, turned out to be beautiful driving weather without a rain drop falling on the windshield. This was a slow to moderate paced run through the Sonoma Valley, Napa Valley, Knights Valley and Chalk Hill Wine Appalacias driving through Petaluma, Glen Ellen, Santa Rosa, Calistoga, Kellogg, Healdsburg and Windsor.
The castle was an amazing tour and although a pricey adventure was well worth visiting at least once.

Another great UBSCC All-British Car Show! Now the Grand Daddy of British Car Shows in Northern California, and the best attended. Although a few less participants from the last few years, there must have been at least 200 of the finest British Cars in attendance.

The rain finally stopped for 2 weeks of warm summer weather prior to this event, thus thawing the roads and warming the air. The weather was absolutely beautiful and MMW was well organized and well attended.
REME hosted two successful runs with member only participants and the SV-REME visited on Saturday in route to their own spirited drive.

We had a wonderful tour, wine tasting, and catered lunch at the Carvalho Family Winery, located in an historic Sugar Mill in Clarksburg, CA (Eastern side of the Sacramento Delta). Although Sacramento area members were able to enjoy a short run through the Delta, those from the North Bay also had an exciting run through mountains and vineyards, driving from Woodland to Lake Berryessa down into Napa Valley, taking Oakville Grade Rd / Trinity Rd into the Sonoma Valley.

Wow... this will be a beautiful drive. It has been at least 2-3 years since REME took some of these roads. They are rough and slow, but the views are beautiful - like no others that we have traveled.
