You still have one day left to fill up your tank, charge your FRS/GMRS Radio batteries, hop in your MINI and head to Mt. Shasta for the weekend. Can't say we haven't warned you! We still have room on the run and at the dinner table for a sunset BBQ catered dinner atop Mt. Shasta on Saturday night.

We are sorry if you can't make it. But don't fret -I am sure there will be hundreds of beautiful mountain photos filled with MINIs on twisty roads and smiling faces posted so you will be able to see just how much fun the rest of us had.

If you change your mind and decide to go, you can always go to http://www.redwoodempiremini.com and get all the details.

Please! Everyone who took digital pictures, please pick your favorite 2 or 3 and email them to me for the miniology report. I am especially interested in pix taken during the time we weren't there in the rental dud, er, car out on the roads.

O.K. We're hooked! About halfway home on Sunday evening Cathy turned to me and out of the blue said, "I think my mini convertible will have to be red with black stripes." When we picked up Pogo's sister Grace I'm pretty sure I heard him say to her, "Hey, have you heard? I'm getting a red mini convertible with black stripes!"

I'd like to echo Mindy's thanks for those who planned this event. I'm amazed at the work y'all did to make this such a well planned/executed event. We're looking forward to the next one.

Thanks to everyone that came and all who helped. Seems like everyone had a hand in helping. What a BLAST. Perfect weather. Great Roads. Good food. Super music. And best of all - GREAT Friends.

Looks like we pulled this one off without a hitch. Hope you all made it home safe & sound. From the discussions it looks like everyone wants to try this one again.
3rd Annual Shasta Run??

Although everyone pitched in and I don't want to leave anyone out, a special thanks to the following:

Peter Ziedrich for the mapping and organization and all the "behind the scenes work".
Steven & Taylor Mitchell for helping with the goodie bags and setting up some great photo OPS.
Jerry & Geri for making up the perfect "crusin' tunes" CDs. Music to drive by.
Sandie Zudniak for leading Saturday's Run.
TJ & Deni Marrone for bringing all the delightful wines.
Mindy Brown for setting up the Shasta Dam Tour.
Vic & Corey for being my "co-pilot" by proxi and keeping me "on-track"..
Rob & Alice Saunders for all the video work, help at our place, and just making it up considering all the problems with Jack.
Howard Canfield for scouting ahead and setting up group photos.
San Francisco Deli for putting on a specatular sunset BBQ dinner. GREAT Food!!!!.
Stoner Car Care Products, Out Motoring and Moss Motors for donating their products.

Thanks again to everyone who came and made this a wonderful & memorable weekend.

Jack is back! They replaced the cylinder that charges the pedal to make it spring back when released. MiniUSA got billed $374 for the repair, but Niello Mini did it under the warranty which officially had expired about 300 miles ago.

I can't say how much I've gotten wonderful treatment from Niello Mini.

I was so happy to dump that rental car! When we returned it, the lady asked me how I LIKED IT. I TOLD HER "WE, WE USUALLY DRIVE A MINI, SO THIS WASN'T MUCH FUN!" SHE LAUGHED AND TOLD ME THAT her mom wants a Mini, so we were sure to give her a REME card!

Back safe and sound Monday night 10:41pm. The dam tour was fun, the cavern tour interesting (and a workout!) The kids really enjoyed that last. We loved all the super-twisty E-Ticket rides we got to take this weekend without having to stand in line (too much). The weather was fabulous, and the people were really the main event. Thanks everyone for being so great. We'll see you at the ballgame.

Hi Everybody,

I just got home at about 7:50pm today (Wednesday evening), leaving Salem, OR at 8:15am this morning. I traveled a total of 1650 miles this trip (starting last Friday) averaging 32.6 mpg for the entire trip. Janet is due home tomorrow sometime in the early afternoon (she spent the day with Elsa visiting George Fox University and Lindfield College in the McMinnville area today (I had to get home to work).

I wanted to again thank all of those that participated in the REME 2007 MINI Mountain Tour Part 1 in the Mount Shasta area this year. If you missed it, you missed a great time void of any problems... just a lot of fun! Please sign up for the 2007 REME Mountain Tours - Part 2 to continue the fun through Labor Day weekend.

"slipped your disco though"... sounds like a Freudian slip...

Jerry, I see you cancelled out of Yosemite. I hope that you will be able to make it. We are going to have a blast. We are finishing up planning all the activites now.
We are going to simplify the route a little so there will be a little more down time... a little less aggressive quanity of driving.

Hi Peter, Yes its sad but true.Gerry has a large work related project she has to complete on those dates.Bummer...She said I should go anyway, but we are also planning on doing our master bathroom then and I think that I should be around. Just in case of any problems..What could possibly go wrong?Anyhow we will still see everyone at Rob and Leetas for the BBQ. Also next month at the ballgame..See ya...Jerry Del
